we're a provider of live encoders and a customer of us, using jwplayer, has found some strange behaviour; maybe you could enlighten us a little bit:
Customer is using rtmp as streaming protocol. We sell 2 encoders: ENC-400 and ENC-500. both using resolution 1280x720. With ENC-500 as source, aspect ratio in jwplayer looks OK. With ENC-400, jwplayer displays 4:3 aspect ratio, although stream is 1280x720 - would be expected to be displayed in 16:9. In both cases the resolution is reported during rtmp startup in the OnMetaData(). Difference in both encoders: The VUI Parameters in h264 bitstream.
ENC-500 has no aspect ratio signalled, while ENC-400 has signalled explicitly aspect ratio as 1:1.
any help would be appreciated. Also if anything is unclear or more info needed, pls. let me know.
